I was surprised to learn that the frog fountain beside the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, is an homage to Mark Twain, who for a time was one of the “Bohemians” who spent time at the Montgomery Block building, which was previously located on this site. Others there at the time included Bret Harte, Ambrose Bierce and Jack London.
